RNLB Norman Harvey(D-778) was launched at just before 14:00 at the request of UK Coastguard to assist a 7m angling boat (Oliver) with one person onboard that had broken down about a mile and a half to the South East of the Offshore boathouse. At this stage it was not known what the vessels home port was.
RNLBAlfred Albert Williams (Tamar 16-17) was launched at around 19:30 this evening at the request of Solent Coast Guard to assist Sandown & Shanklin Inshore Rescue recover a 26 foot sailing yacht to Bembridge (Jester Blossom en route to Dartmouth) with two crew onboard that had rigging & engine problems.
RNLBAlfred Albert Williams was launched at around 12:30 this afternoon at the request of Solent CG to medevac a crew member of the bulk carrier Federal Spey (which was heading westwards down the Channel enroute for Brazil) who had severely injured a finger and required urgent surgury.
RNLB Alfred Albert Williams (Tamar 16-17) was launched at the request of Solent Coastguard just after 15:00 this afternoon to locate and assist a 35 foot sailing vessel with 2 crew that had reported an engine fire.
RNLB Alfred Albert Williams (Tamar 16-17) was launched at the request of Solent CG at around 16:40 this afternoon to assist a Chichester based 10.5m angling boat close to No Mans Land Fort with 7 people onboard that had reported being propped and unable to clear it herself.
However prior to reaching the casualty vessel, the Alfred Albert Williams was informed that the problem had been resolved and as assistance was no longer required she therefore returned to Bembridge and was recovered by 17:30.
RNLB Norman Harvey (D-778) was launched at the request of Solent CG at around 17:30 this afternoon to assist a 20 foot trimaran anchored on the lee shore just to the east of Bembridge Groyne with 2 crew onboard who were unable to get their anchor up.
A member of the ILB crew was transferred to the trimaran and the anchor was then able to be pulled free. A tow was set up and the trimaran was taken into the harbour and handed on the Harbour Staff. The Norman Harvey then returned to the station and was recovered by 18:00.
RNLB Alfred Albert Williams (Tamar 16-17) launched at around 17:45 this afternoon at the request of Solent Coastguard following a report from the Brittany Ferry Bretagne on its way to Portsmouth that a passenger had seen someone in the water about 2 miles south of Bembridge Ledge.
Once on scene the Y boat was launched and sadly a body was recovered which was then brought back to the Offshore Lifeboat Station where it was handed over to the local Police. The Alfred Albert Williams rehoused at around 18:35.
RNLB Alfred Albert Williams (Tamar 16-17) launched at 08:51 this morning at the request of Solent Coastguard to locate and provide assistance to a 22 foot sailing boat with 1 crew member onboard that had suffered gear & mechanical failure somewhere between Ventnor & St Catherine's Point.
