July Services 2012

A 23' yacht run aground at around 12:30 on Bembridge Ledge (by the entrance to the run) and were attended by Sandown Inshore rescue.

Shortly after the vessel was well and truly aground and had no option but to sit and wait the six and a half hours before it would refloat again.

Both ALB and ILB launched at 18:20 to assist the refloat, the ILB recovered the vessels anchor and rigged a towline just prior to the vessel floating.

Once afloat the ILB towed it out into deeper water.

No damage was sustained to the yacht and it continued its passage to Portsmouth Harbour.
