June Services 2011

The ALB was launched at 09:51 to a trimaran that was taking part in the Round the Island Race and unfortunately had capsized off St Catherine’s; the crew were rescued by a RIB and landed ashore.

The sea conditions made for a lively race and the lifeboat assisted a number of yachts throughout the day and returned to station at 15:30 before being tasked again at 16:40 to take over the tow from Yarmouth lifeboat of the upturned vessel.

The ALB launched at 02:06 to assist a 12 metre yacht that was experiencing difficulties 17 miles south east of Bembridge, the yacht was escorted and then towed into Portsmouth Harbour.
